Now that's a big pump! I had some cousins who used to buy and restore old gas pumps.

That will definitely get attention!

with Barb, that's a big freakin' pump! It actually looks like a lighthouse...Over and over, you get so many shots of pure americana, and so many that are so unique. This place feels like the end of the earth, esp with your low-to-the-hill pov. (I mean there could be a shangri-la just past the hills back there, for all we know!) The light is bleaching, and that gray facade is stark. I love the shot. I expect tumbleweeds to blow by, and the museum to be abandoned with wind blowing through the halls. A stark, strange and beautiful capture. Your gallery shows me tons of america that I'll probably never see, and I'm grateful, Richard.

That's pretty cool, Richard!
I remember years ago, my dad was looking around for one of those glass cylinders from the old gas pumps - he wanted to make an aquarium with it. He wasn't able to find more than a couple of them. But the folks that had them wanted a king's ransom for the things.. And that was back in the late '50s..
