what's so compelling about this image is that this woman seems to be called by some transcendent force; so, while she's lost all faith, faith seems to be calling her. It's really the struggle for many people in our age...One of your most mystical mysterious images. The light from that lantern---and maybe it's much more than a lantern---is mysterious and powerful. And it showers a blue cast over everything. You have windows in the background, but they seem to look out into an alternate reality, where there is real light. And yet she's not "inside" the windows, she outside them: A wonderful play of time and space, Steve...And I love the branches creeping into the image from the left. Beautifully done, and fitting for this difficult time we're all living in.

I'm sure Barb/bakapo's advice is absolutely true. It's hard, as we get older, to have to deal with our bodies turning us upside down, presenting challenges we never wanted. I sympathize with your mom. But I hope the procedures or therapies she had will get her through this, to where she can be at ease again. And I hope she's feeling better too. As others have said above, she must be very grateful to have a devoted son like you. My prayers are with you both.
