Description
Some of you may remember this little guy, Gussie the mouse, who joined the gallery on May 22, 2021. I like how this turned out--a very storybook rendition.

I'm so glad you're having fun re-visiting your gallery with DDG. Your art translates well. This little mouse is still adorable and his tree house looks positively ancient.

The colors give it a classic story book look, almost has a 3D feel.. The textures give me a sci fi twist to the story in head, a fairy tale land being taken over by a strange alien techno virus. Did I tell you I have a wild imagination, lol. Cool image G... ;)

Oh....adorable little guy. Love his little pink nose. The bark on the tree looks incredible, too. Very nice overall feel to the scene.

yes! I remember the original (I commented on it at the time, I see), and I loved the story behind it. Your original was a realistic render, with fear and surprise on Gussie's face. Even his feet looked tenuous, like he couldn't get a 'grip, because he was in fear of the approaching cat (Hank). But your DD version captures the elation he'll feel after he realizes that the cat wasn't nearby...His extremities are a deep red, you brought out the reds in the door and those mushrooms (they're saturated and very fairy-tale-like), and the upper bark is filled with colors and organic forms. So is your sky, as is always the case in these treatments. And I love the lantern, the indication that this is a home...A whole little world for Gussie, w/ wonderful colors--those reds are so vivid. You turned it into a celebration without losing the "caught in the moment"feeling of your original. Another wonderful transformation, Barb.
