Description
Jessica leaving pool - is a Poser 12 Superfly render, with refractive and reflexive caustics for water and fence glass mainly.πππ₯°
The only light sources in the scene are the underwater lamps, poles' lights and the HDR environment. No extra lights had lit the scene.
All lights use my shaders, environment uses my shader as well. Water and windows are also my shaders.
First render test took more than 6 hours, the current scene - a bit optimized render settings by me - took 1 hour render time.
No tricks have been used, it's just the scene with it's 3D meshes rendered.
No postwork, never ever.

It's interesting and eye catching, Marius! Using lights that are present as part of the scene adds to the sense of realism, I think. The deep contrast in the sky between the sun and the rest of the sky bothers me a bit; I think I'd like something that seemed more natural to my eye. Nice work, and as your work often does it has me thinking about images and techniques I might like to try myself! Thank you for sharing!

I was using the same HDR you can see Jasmin playing violin on the beach for her sister, she was hugging her boyfriend. So I just dimmed the light a bit :D to test my 'night' lighting from the pool on the terrace. Atmosphere went dark enough for the test, yet as you've mentioned, it might look a bit odd. I stayed with that HDR for the sun direction, it was fit for the fence glass test.
Most of my 'Artwork' is just made to display one, sometimes two properties I'm testing for. Sometimes those test fit, sometimes they don't fit for a composition. Illuminating the character mostly from the water caustic lights and the light poles emissive small areas is truly challenging a lot. The sunlight contribution is low, due to volumetric light scattering which brings for sure very little light contribution.

Looks like Jessica had a great time swimming, while being surrounded with such beautiful and intimate lighting! Excellent work Marius! :-)

I love you too, my dear Johnny. I have fun doing all shaders from scratch, myself. It's a lot of fun, indeed. Thank you for the generous words, my dear friend.ππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππ₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°

An amazing result for such long render times! Well done.

The water only has more than a million polys...πππ Make it use caustic and you are doneπππ
What is less obvious, light is truly scattering through the volumetric air, still preserving it's ability to scatter through glass and reflect.
If light would just pass through the glass fence.., just think how it scatters and it's placement. Weird enough, I guess.π
