after 7 years i'm finally getting around in adding some info on this page. never really thought about doing it. i have been a member here since July 15th 2006, and have learned alot from fellow artists. i would have about 1300 images or so posted but have deleated many of my first pieces. and still consider myself a developing artist at this wonderful site. i'm 56 years old this year "2013" and was born in North Dakota. i have lived in Colorado since 1967 and enjoy this place alot. my stepfather was in the air force and we lived in Bermuda after North Dakota for a few years before coming here where he got stationed.. and so much enjoy many of the finest artist in the world who post here.. love you all and your amazing friendships we share.. lol Steve

Ah! Happy memories of many occasions watching the test card, waiting for the days transmissions to start. Very good illustrative render.

Yep before cable, TV was semi entertaining at best. And after 2 am channels signed off for the night. Sweet job Steve ; )

Only a couple good shows back then, Kimba the White Lion, Speed Racer, Rin Tin Tin, Lassie. I was just a kid, but I sure remember how hard it was to get the coat hanger just right to get reception. Sometimes you'd just have to hold the coat hanger and watch the show.

I like that you rendered the watcher in B&W just like the test pattern. That she's sweating blood and has pentagrams on her fingernails is interesting, as well. I'm not sure I know what you are saying but you have my attention! =)

Not the most recent TV set...this is probably why she's boring ! I from time to time feel the same !

Nicely done, the grey is a n excellent idea
TV was such a family ritual back in the day... we all gathered round to watch a favourite show; no just "having it on in the background" , or slobbing on the couch channel surfing. And you had to plan, those CRTs took a while to warm up! It wasn't all that long ago in the UK (1990s) that we only had 4 channels....

zounds---I zoomed to 100%, and you got great details here! The test pattern----where'd you get that, it's great in this image! (Can you believe that thing came on around 3 a.m., years ago?) And your choices: That pic above the test pattern (pink tinted, from long ago, with a dog!), and that badly cracked wood flower painting, and a great cracked clock....And then you got that woman w/ blood running down her face! People gotta see this full size! You work with darkness as few people here do, and I love this image. TAlso your light is perfect. I don't know if you intended this for halloween, but it's great for the night: Who needs goblins when you got a scenea like this. This lady's not just in the doldrums, she's in a nightmare! I love that she's staring at a test pattern...terrific job, Steve. Creepy and strangely beautiful all at once...

Looks like time is moving so slow for her...if only there was something else she could do! Excellent work! Steve! :-)
