Excellent render. The big guy scales well.
I even remember Fay Wray in the role. I must confess I never really took to the 70s remake , though it was a great debut for Jessica Lange . I rather like Naomi Watts in the role...
paul_gormley
Many thanks, Joe, I remember Fay as well โ wish I was too young not to :)

I must say I didn't see the movie but I read many articles about it and I saw a great number of pictures, but, in my opinion, this one is probably the best one.

Looks great. When i first looked I though you'd 'straddled' the characters by reducing the scale of the girl to lessen the stress on the ape's textures when enlarging...textures held up well.
I like all of the KK movies as each was a little different. Always loved the scene n the Naomi Watts one where Kong was sliding around on the frozen pond....

A mind-boggling render and reminder of the KK movie, really enthralling. I particularly like the lighting of the scene, that gives life and intensity to this dramatic encounter. Well done !

Nicely done. I wouldn't call the King Kong with Jessica Lange the "old" one, though. I'd reserve that term for the classic starring Fay Wray.
paul_gormley
lol, I've actually seen the one, but not the one with Anne Dower

Great Scene, lets hope Kong doesn't have a bad case of hick ups while holding the lady. One inadvertent squeeze and pop goes lady J. What a mess.
paul_gormley
That would be a mess, but it would save him from being shot down from the top of the Empire State building :)
IronClawRoo
Excellent image! King Kong looks innocently curious about this tiny person, lol. :D
MollyFootman
I've always loved King Kong. It's really amazing that you have set up two figures and a background in such different scale with such great effect! Well, done, Paul!

So is he giving her a breast exam, searching her for concealed weapons or just checking under the hood to see if he's dealing with a male or female? I'm guessing he's not really the type to respect what she claims to identify as or what her pronouns are ... and then ... depression set in ...
Great pic ;)
