There's something fitting about commenting on a halloween image at 3:30 in the morning...this is delicious! The angel of death--always good for a laugh--is doing an Uncle Sam pose ("I want YOU"), and asking our name. (Like anyone's gonna tell him...) This is one of your least packed images, and it's just as delicious and (for this holiday) as macabre and tongue-in-cheek as any of your other dark images. I love the light---a burnt sepia (burnt umber---those are Crayola colors!), with oranges in the building and great orange eyes (for Oct), and an old carriage and horses in the background with a very english building back there (and there are people in the upper stories---I love it) and birds, which you often put in your images, making their way into that ominous, creepy moon. Love your composition, ie all that space between Mr. D. and the creepy bldg behind him. Wonderful halloween image, barb, creepy and chilling and delicious. The fog is great. And the angel of d. has chains in his robe---I think he's looking for his next victim...and this time you put your signature flush with the grass against the road (with underscores)...class act! 40 stars! (hope your holiday was sweet!)
