Yes it does have sound effects to match the various trains. Steam locomotives sound like steam locomotives. Diesels sound like diesels and you have bells, horns and whistles as well. The interiors of the locomotives are quite detailed as well! It is a most enjoyable and fun pastime for me at least! Thanks for commenting and for asking about train simulator.
