I love you too, my dear Molly. God-rays are easy when the room is in the dark but, if the room has interior lights from many sources it becomes a little bit more difficult but not impossible. You may also notice it's the full atmosphere that scatters the light, God-rays are visible but also the car lights scatter their light through the volume. It's quite a nice phenomenon, I assume.
