I got started later than most. I picked up Poser 8 on a whim, and was immediately hooked by the promise of the possibilities in store. I have given up on trying animation in Poser, since it hasn't been the easiest thing to learn, let alone master. But I haven't given up on my dream of creating something mind-blowing. I'm... still waiting for that to happen too. I picked up modeling as a way to supplement my runtimes, and in many ways, that has been a curse and a blessing. I never learned by conventional means: teacher and student. I learned by doing, and making a mountain of mistakes. There is an old adage that practice makes perfect. I believe practice makes permanent. If you do something wrong over and over again, you will continue to do it wrong. So it is with my modeling. I didn't have the advantage of tutorials when I first began, and by the time I had seen a few of them, my old habits had taken over, and I still did things my way, because it got the results I wanted. I am using Poser 11 Pro now, and regardless of that title, I am no pro. I could swing a dead cat in a 360 degree arc and hit 200 artists who are better than me, more knowledgeable, and more skilled. What keeps me going is the passion for the art. I pray I never lose that.

Great job on the Miki 4 costume.

Thank you, kind sir! It's always a pleasure to model things for her. And this costume was one that I wanted to do several times, but each time I did it on a different figure, it just didn't look right. On her, it fits, even if the cape is a bit too long versus the comic version.
