there's a definite feeling here of the conflict between watercolors and those oil pastels, the washes seem to drip and repel and make their own little colonies. Your technique is wonderfully organic here: It's like a village of little trees, plants, tiny vases (and bongs), various levels of landscape, some roads and some organic stuff I don't know but they feel very organic. I love the flattened upward drift of the piece, like you've flattened out the distance into a flush-forward vertical landscape. Wonderful pastiche of creatures, growing things and landscape, steve...
