When I was a little girl, I could see Dragons. That's how I chose my name here at Renderosity. (Sometimes I can still see them.)
I have been an artist and a writer all my life - and have worked in acrylic on canvas as well as watercolor. I was best known for my watercolors of dream creatures - especially for my Dream Birds. Lots of my art and writing has been found in dreams.
In May of 2000, I did my first 3D picture on the computer. And I was hooked.
My Underground Shaman series - takes off where my 2D work left off. The faces of animals, human, and not-so-human always fascinate me and I like to use them as stylized motifs to create mandalas full of textures, patterns, colors and emotions.
With the internet, I discovered, that while some people make art to look at, I like to make art that looks at YOU! :-)
The Underground Shamans are Wise Ones from many worlds, realms, and dimensions. In mid-2002 the Dragon Fae also began appearing to humans - they are an interesting race, well-traveled, and good talkers.
My computer and software are now ancient, but they and my imagination are still working at the moment - more or less (as of August 2021)

Welcome back, and what a great "entrance". Love the image and the concept of universal themes in myth and fable is one close to my heart (and recalls one of my favourite book cycles of my youth, the Fionavar Tapestry). Having delved into the folklore of many cultures over the years, its certainly seems true on earth!

I love how you transformed cybertenko's crawling robots (or whatever they are) into big storage tanks. One of them looks like it was taken from a Chinese urn or vase. And the tall structures are mysterious presences in your landscape, almost like gods or goddesses except that they are very mechanical. Kind of towers that are alive but that are also huge electrical stations. The rest of your landscape is a primal flat sea with primal rocks. Like a primal basin from which future life might rise.
Your shaman is an inspired, strange and strangely beautiful creature, with such elaborate bronze design for skin---almost like bronze vase designs. And his long craned neck suggests peering curiosity, like he's peering into the past of whatever culture he visits (much like your description). A peaceful face with amber-red eyes, and fascinating hair. He seems to wear a crown or some holy relic on his head. Or maybe it's a version of a monk's tonsure, used to show humility to the divine. His neck-rings are a dark bronze-gold tone, to match the tones throughout the piece. And the whole piece is bathed in those olive tinted hues you use from time to time, which evoke a sense of twilight or early dawn...or the still before the storm (esp in the midwest): an imbued state, pregnant with realization. I hope you're well, and I hope things go well for you as you deal with all you're dealing with, Rose. It's a pleasure to see you back here whenever you can make it happen. Take care.
