Description
Captain Otakama offered an assessment: "The perimeter is defensible and there appears to be a capacious cellar where you might set up your equipment, Professora."
The Professora Marguerite Fotenmann nodded. "My agent assured me of such. I really don't need you and Captain Morrison, though. My companion, Scarlett, and my own self are adequately armed," she brandished the lighting wand. "Beside us, there's that infernal clank of Scarlett's devising." The Professora disliked clanks generally but knew her young companion, a spark, did not share this particular prejudice.
Scarlett Van Ritter smiled as she descended from the carriage listening to the exchange between the Royal Air Dragoon officer and her mistress. She knew better than to interrupt and expected the Professora would not prevail. Her Majesty, the Queen, considered the Professora important enough to guard carefully and the Royal Air Dragoons were an elite force that obeyed her Majesty without question.
"May I helps you down, Miss?" the Iron Monkey enquired.
"No, I'm quite capable of disembarking, thank you, Monk!" Scarlett replied.
Captain Morrison somehow found himself relegated to unloading the luggage. "I could use a hand, though!" Monk studiously ignored this invitation.
"I'm hoping to meet Ebenezer Darkstar as soon as is practical!" the Professora told the Air Dragoon.
"Not meanin' teh eavesdrop, now, m'lady," the portly carriage driver said. "But thet Darkstar fellah been missin' fer nigh on 2 years. 'Is niece is said teh be runnin' the show! In-air-itted the 'ole kit as t'were!"
The Professora sighed. "That would have been worth knowing before we planned this relocation. I suppose I must arrange to meet with this niece person although I'm afraid she is not likely to be able to address my concerns about Ebenezer's latest research."
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered using Poser 12.0.703 and tweaked in Photoshop for a bit of haze and glow. These characters have been occassional subjects of my art for years and I thought I would bring them into my Lilja Darkstar continuum. Captain Lilly Blossom Otakama and the Professora are based on Victoria 4 (morphs are my own and textures are by Tempesta3D). Scarlett Van Ritter is based on Stephanie 3. Lieutenant Brock Morrison is based on Michael 4 as is the portly gentleman driving the carriage. Monk is a stand alone character. The scene is by Blue Tree Studios. I've noted a few other products I used in this picture that are available here; the rest is at DAZ. If you want more detail about anything you see I can help you find the vendor. Wow!!!!!!! This image is soooo wonderful I don't know where to begin. Each figure is telling a story. Poses and everything are perfection!

I love this comment, my dear! As one whose pictures usually illustrate some story in my head, a comment like this is music to my ears. It means even more from a credible and talented artist like yourself! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Nicely done! There's an illustrative quality to this that I love.

Oooh! Thank you, Annie. I love a comment that has some word like "illustrative" in it as I am a story teller whose images usually are part of a story! I really appreciate it from a talented content creator like yourself!

all the elements make this a splendid image full of joy.

Thank you, Steve. I don't always do "happy" well and if that came out of this story picture for you I'm delighted. Thanks for taking time to let me know!

a very fun set of characters and interesting scene, like the poor fellow loaded down with the trunk and the steampunk carriage, looks like a good series coming up
MollyFootman
Thank you, Paul. The carriage was included in the content from Blue Tree Studios. As for Brock being pressed into being a porter for the luggage, isn't that always what happens when you're the lone guy in a group! XD As for a story, I'm sure as I am introducing this bunch into my "Lilja Darkstar Continuum" (remember we lost saw her being borne off by air pirates). I always love hearing from a talented character and content creator like you! <3

..great scene and excellent details
MollyFootman
Thank you, my dear. The bulk of it was that excellent set recently released by Blue Tree Studios and then bits and bobs laying around in my content library which occupies a hard drive of it's own any more. >.<

A lot of work in this one, Molly. it shows. As textured The older assets blend well with Blue Tree's set so you don't have a clash between levels of detail. A lot of posing which isn't easy. It all works.

It's always so validating and energizing when somebody acknowledges all the fussing it takes to make a picture! <3
It means a lot when a talented artist like yourself takes the time to comment, my dear! Thank you so much!

Dear Molly, the Professora Marguerite Fotenmann reminds me of your own name. She seems to be a very resolute lady. And there is a lot to discover from your picture. What will be inside these luggage boxes? They seem to be very heavy. I hope she will be satisfied and suceed with her research. Well done, Regards Anne
MollyFootman
As a matter of fact, the similarity of name is not a coincidence. The character of the Professora is a persona that I use when I play in Second Life. I'm delighted that the picture raises questions in your mind and perhaps makes you interested in more.

Molly, your stuff is really solid. I looked over your images and you really understand how to light a scene. I can't tell you how many images I've seen here on Renderosity where there are great props and clothes and hair and etc, but the scene is dull and flat due to the poor lighting. :)
MollyFootman
That's the most lovely positive feedback I've received in all of 2021! Thank you so much. All that accepted with pleasure but I submit that I'm still struggling with how to effectively light scenes that are supposed to be taking place at night in the dark. This particular scene, in daylight, is where I think I shine, though (see what I did there? XD). Again, thank you for the lovely comment!
