Description

First image in DS on the new computer. It was pretty fast. I wanted something hanging from his belt loop...like a shirt. But I don't have anything like that, so I drew one. Should have been longer. And I probably need more practice. Or maybe I should have used Photoshop instead of Painter, since I have more experience with it.

Outstanding image! And while I agree, the hanging shirt should be longer, it DOESN'T LOOK PAINTED! Your image looks very realistic, BRAVO!

Now, I don't know if you want/need advice on cloth painting, but one of the masters here is an artist named lundqvist. If you haven't seen his gallery, take a look, and if you feel compelled, maybe ask him for some tips. But you're rocking it from what I can see! 😍

Overall I like the picture but its the pack that grabs my attention. I is cool but does not fit properly for long term comfort but better than carrying in your hands.

Good to see you experimenting with mixed media. This is a fine image, with lots of character interest. . Here are a few tips if your post s/w supports them.

  1. always work in layers (like in this case, the shirt on its own layer.
  2. look to see if you have drop shadow. You could have used that to shade the shirt's outside shadow.
  3. Look through your blending, opacity, and color tinting options. Often they can help to blend the image in.
  4. Clone stamping and smudging are your friends to fix little boo-boo's in a render with poke through.

ahhhh there a so many more but just play and have fun in post. It is a valuable skill 4 sure.

You consistently do such natural light, and very natural posing. Excellent scene. Maybe a water bottle on his loop?
