As he walked into the outer entryway, the Emperor's Hand, Gamon Halt and a Medusian Doctor stood waiting for him. Silently, and without permission, the Doctor began removing Mab's Shirt and spraying him with disinfectant. "How dare you come before the Emperor dressed like that." the fierce and deadly Gamon screamed. "Don't you have any respect for the Emperor?" Gamon laughed inside. He had personally instructed that the Cadet not be allowed to change out of his dirty field gear. Now, he had an excuse to do his favorite thing....He was going to beat young Mab into a pulp before he saw the Emperor. He didn't know why Grell wanted the Cadet, but since he himself had gained such great favor with the Overlord, he wasn't going to take any chances that this Mab Elon could one day take his place. "Please, Sir!" Cadet Mab cried. "I wasn't allowed to change my clothes." As Gamon clenched his fist and prepared to strike Mab, a strange wave of warmth seemed to come over him. Feelings not felt since he was a small boy living in the alleyways of the Imperial City surfaced; a feeling of total Love and devotion to this young Cadet seized at him mightily. His fist quivered as he tried to strike and beat the young man within an inch of his life. His arm would not move. His fist softened and opened into an an outstretched hand. "I am so, so sorry Cadet Mab." Gamon said as he reached up and gingerly brushed the dust off of Mab's chest. "We...We have a dress uniform for you so you can look your very best." "Thank you, Sir." Mab Answered. "I love the Empire and our Emperor with all my heart. I would never want to disrespect them." A hover droid appeared near Mab's head with a dress uniform hat. "See, Here's your hat! We wouldn't dream of having our gallant Cadet not looking his best." Gamon said as he wrapped his arm around Mab's shoulders. Gamon felt a shock of intense energy flash through him as he inched closer to the Cadet. Oh, how he wished he could find some excuse to hug the young man. He would do anything to be asked. "I am so happy I got the honor of taking you to meet his Majesty." Gamon said. "Maybe you and I can be friends? I know the best places in town to eat if you have time off from the Academy." Mab didn't really understand what caused this change of heart. He had great difficulty understanding facial signals and emotions, so he worked hard at tuning other people out and focusing only on his duties. Would the Emperor be so kind to him? Why did he want to see a nobody like him? He thought. Mab couldn't help but shake with anxiety as he quickly changed into his dress uniform.
