finally, i figured out that the view render is not meant to be a render at all, so setting up the camera is a process by itself. a huge "aha" moment, and i picked up some camera tricks along the way... sometimes with new software, you you think is a glitch or bug or something that is driving you totally nuts turns out to be a simple quirk or misunderstanding of the program features altogether.
and i cant wait to get a hold of scatter5...
