He knelt down and stared through the fence as a small form stepped out from behind the wall on the other side and stared up at him. "K'mpeg." He chuckled lightly. "What are you doing out so late, Little Warrior?" "I have to make sure you two are okay." The child responded with a curt nod. "If one of the guards had come out, they would not give Avarris much attention, but you..." He shook his head. "I could cause a commotion, and that would of have allowed you to slip away." "Very tactical thinking." Navarre responded with a grin. "So are you coming back for her tomorrow?" He grinned. "You two belong together." "Not tomorrow. For us, it means soon." "I have heard." K'mpeg lowered his head in sorrow. "You have to go away or get hurt." "Yes." He nodded his head slowly. "That is true. But I will come back. I promise you that." "When you come for Avarris," He glanced up with expectations in his eyes. "You had better see me before you leave." "I would never forget you, Little Warrior." Navarre smiled. "You are one of my truest friends and allies." "Then I will watch over Avarris while you are away." "I was hoping that you would. I can't trust that task to anyone else." "You have my word of honor." K'mpec gave a curt nod and place a small fist to his chest. "Util tomorrow then." Navarre leaned back up and placed his fist upon his chest. "Until tomorrow, My friend." He watched silently as the child disappeared back behind the wall and out of sight before making his way out of this sector of the city.
