When you go to a New Year's Party with your partner, and he leaves with someone else, you wish you had stayed home, so you try to find a quiet place to be alone. But sometimes fate has other plans ... Gavin had seen the blowup between Jaxson and his longtime boyfriend, and watched as Jaxson's ex put his arm around a random twink's shoulder and head out the door. When he saw Jaxson step out onto the balcony, he wanted to console is friend, and maybe help him pick up his spirits with the midnight kiss he was going to miss ... Jaxson, for obvious reasons, and Gavin, because he was single this year, too. As the ball began to drop on the television inside, Jaxson noticed the countdown get louder for a few seconds, then quieter. He hadn't noticed his old pal Gavin coming out onto the balcony, he was lost in his thoughts about the heated exchange a few minutes earlier. How could his boyfriend of seven years just unceremoniously dump him, and take up with a random twink he'd just met at a party?
