Description
December 21st was Jacomina's birthday---dochtersions, here on RR.
I'm late...so let this be a New Year's gift as well!
Jacomina is one of my favorite artists here. My oldest RR friends all adored her work (helanker, auntietk, etc), and we used to talk about Jacomina's work all the time. In fact, she was chosen Artist of the Month at least twice---and she deserved it. I see so much organic life in her fractals: They have so many layers, so many mysteries...they come out of her like symphonies. And her paintings and collages are wonderful. (She makes collages out of objects from her life, and I flip out at them. I can't translate "flip out" into Dutch---sorry! But I love them!) And any of you who know her photography know that she's a magician with the lens...she captures such beauty and delicacy and depth. She has a true photographer's eye.
I also want to say she's been very open about her health, as she deals with constant pain every day, yet she radiates so much light. I have enormous respect for her positive powers, and the love she shows here all the time. And also: She's a musician and she adores the music of J.S. Bach! As an old classical pianist, if you love Bach or Beethoven, you're welcome in my home any day of the week! (Really: Two bars of the St. Matthew or The Goldberg Variations, or the heaven-sent Chorale-Preludes, and you get a free dinner, a case of wine, and a free plane ride back to Europe...)
Happy Birthday, Jacomina: I wish you all the light and healing in the world! And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and inspiration you've given....All of us who've known you here have been so grateful for your light. I wish you love and gratitude, and a wonderful 2022, and I hope you have many more to come...Gelukkig nieuwjaar! peace, mark
(the image is from 6 old pieces, messed-with in Photoshop...that 'disc' in image 2 is my pale attempt at a CD, preferably with Bach on it) (better full size)

This such a beautiful dedication to a very special artist...one which I happen to admire also! Just as you have so eloquently stated...she is gifted with talent. Her skill behind the camera is amazing and her abstract works of art are fantastic. She captures the beauty that surrounds us in nature so well. She is an artist in every sense of the word, one needs to only look at her gallery to admire her artistic creativity within her art.
Your abstract works of art are always original and such a pleasure to view! May 2022 turn out to be a great year for you Mark! :-)

Mystical, I just love that word mystical, it makes curious; and that's what I am, always curious how people (really) are. And how trees really are, so I'm that very surprised by discovering those great present from a great friend.
"bow, here I go": I see a landscape that can change at a moment, in a look of the eye. Musical trees, which can also dance. Musical clouds that can turn into snow-covered mountains. Everything is musical, and everything is feeling, in every image this is everywhere!
And everything is intertwined, every season. It's with every 'window' as if I wake up, and I open the windows wide, I'm surprised, excited about what I see. Not only about what I see, but I can feel the movement, such as a gramophone, such an old-fashioned, which you have to turn, and to put a needle on.
The light is also moving. It's like looking into a kaleidoscope, when I suddenly see all the images about each other. I love the lichen at no 3. At no.1, I find the coloured layers on the horizon so lively. No.2 is so special, because of the large gramophone record, making the tree swing. At no 4, the gramophone record hangs on a branch, this is also a very warm image. Yet no.3 my favourite, with those snowy mountains, and especially that tension that shows this image, the mystery, it makes me curious.
Finally, Lieve Mark, from my whole heart I send you my thanks for this personal gift. You always have a lot to give, that's YOU, Mark, that makes YOU, Mark!!! And that, while you should be "busy with recovering", you have so richly spoiled me.
For you, I wish your path will always be like you're walking about roses. Without thorns of course, just rose scent and moonshine. Light and bright.
I'm so grateful, dear friend!
P.S. thank you for inviting me every day of the week, because we will drink that wine, right? Every day of the week! And then I hope I still can find that free plane ticket to Europe, it may be that I can already fly from myself. ;-)
btw, You don't have to learn Dutch, my friend, because flip is flip, here we 'flip' too. I flip because of your wonderful birthday gift. Sincerely, Jacomina.

Happy New Year Mark! Funny I thought musical when I saw this in the notifications and then I just now read what you wrote, so my instincts were right. You always manage to capture the spirit in your so talented works, so I interpret this as the spirits dancing to honor the trees...such a beautiful feeling! You used alot of red in this, did you know that natives believe red is the only color the spirits can see? :)

Well, firstly, Happy Birthday, Jacomina! A little late also, but my head has lately been busy visiting places a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Anyhoo....
Another delightful example of your happy, brilliant and colorful work, Mark! You do these so well - it's like Magic! Kinnie is most impressed!
I do so miss some of the old-timers here. Some have passed on, some have just moved on to other interests. I miss auntietk and bmac65. I thought they were living in this area, but haven't heard anything from them in a few years. No replies to emails, so I have to wonder.
And I can definitely hear Bach and Beethoven at their finest when I look at this wonderful artwork! They've always been favorites (along with Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Brahms, Wagner, and several others). Brilliant as always, buddy!

I love how the trees become human forms in these images. That's magic!
Thank you for sharing your talents!

Your latest graphic looks fantastic again, (which is a fantastic gift for your friend) with so many comments to write every day I just don't have the words, I don't even know what to write anymore and my damaged back is totally mad at me at the moment.

Only you can bring trees to life like this, they dance with light and beauty. These images are warm and friendly and they are the perfect gift to brighten a birthday. The creativity you put into these images is amazing. It takes talent to make beauty like this. I always feel better when I see something you posted with such love and care... you sure know how to create magic!
