Description

Nova knifed downward easily spotting the slowly sinking alien woman. "I'll reach her and get her back to the surface!" She thought. She noted something huge and dark much deeper in flooded quarry and made a mental note to learn more about it after she had pulled the drowning woman to safety. Molly's art notes: This was set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.757 using Superfly Cycles 2. The figures are Neo and Nova by Vyusur. Neo is wearing some clothing that came with the figure and Nova is wearing refitted gear from La Femme. The jet skies are personal watercraft by Apograficos. The setting is by 2nd World. I used some water FX by Flink to help with the wakes of the jet skis and Nova's entry splash. I did some retexturing using materials by Dimension3D (RIP) and Vince Bagna.

Thanks. Since starting to use Superfly almost exclusively to render I've been trying to get a realistic looking underwater scene and I thought this was the best so far. I really appreciate the validation, my dear!

Thanks, Annie. Superfly is such a different animal for rendering that good ol' Firefly. I think this scene is my best underwater attempt so far and really appreciate your comment!

great work on the underwater environment and the posing, the unconscious envoy is convincingly posed — easy to imagine a shark (or something) coming out of that gloom too... 5+

Oh Paul! That's such a very pleasing comment to my little Molly-ears! XD

Getting a convincing underwater scene has long been a goal of mine and Superfly is so different from Firefly I was despairing of ever getting it but I thought I did pretty good here. I shall be doing more... perhaps even with sharks! =)

I wonder what is hidden in the dark. I hope we will see it in your next pictures. Greetings from Anne

Thank you, Annie! I appreciate that you are enjoying this series of pictures (all titles in the series start with the words "The Envoys") about a trio of very attractive humanoid aliens coming to earth. The big thing deep in the flooded quarry is the crash-landed spaceship. Beta, their science officer, is the lovely being that Neo inadvertently struck with his personal water craft and that Nova is currently trying to save from drowning.

I'm sorry that my stories get so complicated. You are a dear person to try to follow and to comment! Thank you so much!

What secrets lie below the depths? Incredible composition and great simulation of being underwater. The lighting and bubbles really help to sell the scene.

Thank you! Trying to get a realistic-looking underwater scene is a journey for me and Superfly doesn't make it easier! :P I think this is the best yet and am very pleased you thought it worth a comment, my dear!

This is so cool. Water bubbles look awesome

Thank you! It's funny that you mention the bubbles as they constitute the one area of the picture I wasn't satisfied with. I have to work on it but it was the best I could manage at my current level of skill. It's so reassuring that I managed to get to "good enough" with them, if not perfect. Thanks again, for taking the time to give me this very helpful encouragement!

Missed this one. One thing I like in this scene is the bordering (momentarily forgot the term and will remember it whilst out in the garage or something) on the light which draws the viewer toward the action and creates a sense of depth without cluttered impedimenta in the background.

The term you're searching for is "vignette", I think. I was worried that it was a bit too obvious here but decided to go with it and after your comment, I'm glad I did. As always, lovely to hear your thoughts, JD. <3
