I've always felt that it's just a courteous thing to do - if someone takes the time to comment (yes, even a simple one-word comment), I always at least take a run through their gallery if they aren't already on my follow list. There seems to be a trend lately of artists (some who have recently returned) who post daily, but don't seem to have time to leave any kind of comment at all. Sad.

These days, it's more important than ever to support and encourage each other.

Let's face it, the gallery is mostly a popularity contest. I don't give a hoot if no one looks, makes a comment, or likes/favs my stuff. I diddle around with 3D simply as a way to pass time and primarily use the gallery as a repository. I won't even pretend it's art. The gallery is a nice place to keep in touch with others.

Sorry, I disagree a little, for a storage place for my pictures, that's why I have my harddrivs. And I could think of something else to pass the time. I do think that the effort that someone puts into their images is also rewarded.

Hi Michi, deine neue Grafik ist wie immer super geworden! Bin froh, dass man wieder was schreiben kann, alles andere bringt nichts, man macht es sich bloß selber schwer, ich bin auch auf verschiede Artisten hier stinkewütend, aber was soll's inzwischen gehen die mir alle am Allerwertesten vorbei!

I myself never leave a comment without a like, fav or many times both. As I will do so for this one. : ) Thank you for letting me do so by the way. Time is my enemy, I cant even view all the awesome art here, let alone comment. It makes me feel guilty, specially when others take time to comment on mine. For this reason I have thought of turning off mine. I love the image and where the mouse draws my eyes in. The colors are breath taking. Im glad I got a chance to view it. I wish you the best. Very nice. I might have raised the exposure to bring out more depth, but I'm thinking you wanted to convey a lot of brightness in the greyish stonework and backdrop to avoid making a 'dungeon scene.'

As for the comment bit, I don't judge those counting likes or comments, but I relish the comments I receive and reciprocate as best I can, though the sheer volume of some artists' submissions can make it a challenge. I have a lot to learn in this hobby and some of the advise I've received has been of great value, so I make the effort, and like RodS, I explore the galleries of those who've look at mine and offer advice in the rare instances I have something worthy to offer.

Made a few friends along the way, which ain't a bad icing on the cake.
