Sometime before the ThunderCats existed, Rankin-Bass started with a mini-series called TigerSharks: a group of space policemen who came to an aquatic world to protect it from attacks by evil mutants. Any resemblance to the Thundercats or the Silverhawks is not a coincidence since all three properties belong to the same company. What caught my attention is that among the villains, there was just one single female character: Soulmate, the Mankiller. And that, coupled with the fact that she is an extremely skilled swordfighting woman, made me select her for the next illustration in my series "Forgotten Ladies"
