It's when you think you're in the clear that trouble comes, he looks pretty tough to me for a peasant, he looks ready to fight. A very beautiful scene.

Good luck trying to get him to take over your post...this guy walking out is on a reconnaissance mission to gather intelligence to overthrow the ruler of this castle! He is a trained warrior able to single-handedly stop any one that may intrude upon his mission.

My recommendation to this hungry volunteer is to get someone else to take over his post, just not this guy disguised as a peasant! Great job creating this scene Bill! :-)

Probably a reason the castle lord stuck this knight on the narrow gate rather than the main. Imagine if that peasant had a wagon with all sorts of nefarious characters concealed under hay? Then again, he might be in enough trouble as it is...
