Description

Mostly spent time doing this in Photoshop. No depth of field after final render in Vue (although Vue can do it but I had too many artifacts), took this in GIMP (an alternative to Photoshop) and did the depth of field. I rendered foreground grass as alpha image in Vue (foreground grass selected grass white with black background) then another full render without depth of field in Vue, then take the alpha and regular images in GIMP and blurr the images. Three images. First one is foreground (sharp grass), second one is middle blurr and third image is back very blurry then combined the three. I think it is sort of fun dealing with photo-manipulating. To those that follow my work, I recently purchased Poser 11 (probably will upgrade to 12 after I go over the hump in the learning curve process) so you may see images I post made in Poser along with Vue as time permits. I avoided Poser for a while because I find the poser models not glamerous to me but I can make it how I like it. Besides so much stuff I wanted to use in renders but only compatible for Poser or DAZ only.

Very nicely done sounds like a lot of work to create dof outside of vue.Ive not had any problems or artifacts using dof in vue maybe that's because I use mostly pathtracer render in vue or maybe a different version?

not too much work outside of vue. I rendered the foreground grass as an alpha image (white and black) then take it to photoshop used it as mask layer then create depth of field with the rest of image. I do not know much about pathtracer render I need to look into that. If i have questions i may ask.
