Description

... Which looks a whole lot better than our kitchen at the moment. Our 6 year old oven / range blew up yesterday - another $700 - something for a new one from Lowe's - should be delivered Sunday... (Actually, it didn't really "blow up" as in nuking my entire house! LOL Just me being overly dramatic.. It basically just shorted out inside so it made a loud 'POP' sound, and now the timer / computer and oven parts are DOA. The top burners still work, though, so we're not in too bad a shape.) Anyway - enough of my whining.. This image is more of an experiment than anything else. Messing a bit with this awesome set, playing with lighting (I'm pretty happy with the sunlight coming through the blinds off-camera), and a few other things. It might be a little spotty for a while with the TNA story. I am working on the next page, and hope to have it done and posted in the next week. I have to take breaks fairly often - with the extreme cold weather we're currently having, it stays rather chilly in this damn basement, and I have to go upstairs and warm up now and then. We're looking at some solutions for this, but our preferred one is finding another place. Don't see that happening anytime soon with the insane housing market, and having to spend so much the last few months. Anyone have a spare miracle in the closet or garage they're not using? Email me - we'll work something out! LOL You might notice I've changed my signature graphic - another experiment. I've been informed I can MENTION that I have a Patreon / Ko-Fi, just not link or show a text URL. Apparently logos are OK - I've seen others use them in their uploads. We'll see what happens... In the meantime, Thank You all so much for stopping by, and for all your wonderful comments, support, friendships, and your own wonderful artworks! Stay safe (and stay WARM!). i'm sorry I'm several days late on this, Rod, I was away from RR for several days (due to my back and arms), and I just got back here tonight---though I saw this upload almost as it went up. (Love it.) First, thank you for yet another awesome comment, you always make me feel just terrific in whatever I post, and I appreciate it greatly. When the day comes that I actually draw again, I'd be happy to come up with projects (I remember your wildly energetic cats, along with some other drawings you've posted---some in pencil, which impressed me no end.) I've posted old work almost exclusively in the last months, but I'm aching to start drawing again, and one day we can create something together. (You'll split the atom and I'll write a theme song...how's "the fission mission" for a title...or you can do the 3D and I'll do---well I'll figure something out!) I didn't even know what "Twitch" is. Thanks so much again, Rod. It's greatly appreciated.

Your use of dark light here is wonderful. Your model (Maysa) is wonderful in that dark light, it matches her near-chocolate skin tone and makes her outfit (a bustier?) glow in a reddish gold. And her legs match the flow of the light on her and against the counter wall. I too love the slats of light on the floor---they even match the horizontals in the wall (right, back). And I love the dramatic ceiling lights, and light on the fruit, coffee tray and backsplash. A brown and reddish brown palette; and the apples are a great red/yellow accent. A classy dark-lit image, where you used the background perfectly. (And yes, it's a classy set.) It suits her perfectly.

Good luck with the moving. And sorry about the stove---yeah, I pictured shock waves all the way to Ohio...Sunday is 2 days ago, hope the new one is fine. I hope your search for a new place works out well, and that you make something good on the dual sale-purchase. You're doing a lot (must feel like it never ends). I wish you all the best. Hopefully your new home will have a work studio that isn't like Norad---with 200 feet of rock between it and your living room (and radiation warnings at the doorways) (you do have them, right?). You'll probably miss the ol' place, but it'll be nice to have a place where the air's a little warmer, and the floods are miles away...miles and miles away...All the best, Rod. I truly wish you and Jo the very best and speediest with this: God knows you've earned it many times over.
