Description
Making another pass at pulp covers for a project Davo and I are picking at, this one is supposed to be (very) tongue and cheek ... if you imagine the young man is looking at something risqué and amazingly inappropriate then this cover makes sense ... sort of ;)
Hats of to Daddyo3d for texturing up the revolver for this image.

Nice job on creating your own version of the old pulp covers.

Heh. "Almost Stellar Stories", eh? It really does have the look of a Golden Age pulp magazine that you might find in a second hand book store. I love the confident, smug expression on the depicted character. The processing gives it the look of a hand made rather than rendered illustration, too. Really nice attention to detail and successful "aging" of the medium. This stands out enough to rate five stars and two thumbs up (I'd give it more thumbs but I have only the normal human allotment). =)

Love the vintage mag look.

agree with Molly about the character, he has very distinctive face that transcends the usual genesis morphs into a Heavy Metal type quality comic look; super work on the well-thumbed aged look too

“Read it today - toss it tomorrow”. LOL!! Every texture is terrific, esp. the magazine paper. Not a hero. 😀
