Description

The terrain was self made, the material from High Resolution Terrains 1 a bit modified. The visible sun is from the Space Construction Kit (both available at Daz 3D). Sky and ambient light by the Gasclouds_B09 HDRI (unpublished) and the key light by the sun. All life on this world disappeared a long time ago.

This was prophetic! I've just read in the New York Times, that a coronal mass ejection reaching Earth around February 2 disrupted about 40 of the 49 internet satellites launched recently by SpaceX. The crippled satellites will tumble to Earth and be incinerated in Earth's atmosphere.

Thank you contedesfees. I had worked for 40 years in satellite telecommunications and I remember one outage in a night caused by a solar eruption, but it only one polarization was affected for about half an hour, then everything returned to normality.
