Description

"So give me a 'spidey' pose!" I hopefully instructed. "Oh, I've got my own little pose. Much better!" She rose 'en pointe' and balanced effortlessly. She then fired her web shooters just as I clicked the shutter on my camera. "That's going to be the dickens to clean up," I fretted. She laughed as she disappeared out of my skylight and into the night. Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered with Superfly Cycles 2 in Poser 12.0.757 and then tweaked in Photoshop for a tad of glow and a subtle vignette. The Ghost Spider costume is by --Wartech-- and worn by the very venerable yet very serviceable V4. I used morphs and textures from Tempesta3d on V4 but they can't be seen under the costume; I figured I might want to show pictures of Gwen or Ghost Spider with her mask off. The webs are from Orestes at DAZ. The studio props are by the marvelous Afrodite-Ohki and lighting set up by Blackhearted. I'm not entirely happy with the pose which I copied from a photograph of a cosplayer I came across on Flickr taken at some recent convention. Ghost Spider or Spider Gwen is wholly owned by Marvel. I confess to knowing next to nothing about the character other than what I learned from watching "Into the Spiderverse" with my grandsons but I love the costume. This is fan art which I share for free and will not make one red cent from. Enjoy!

Gorgeous comics scene, wonderful outfits and assets, excellent lighting, brilliant render.
Great DOF and yet, I can clearly see the skyscrapers behind the spider.😊
Exquisite Artwork. I love it!

Like most men they will get caught up in her web. The lighting and Shadows are spectacular Molly.

Thank you, Steve. You've probably figured out that I like dramatic, contrasting lighting. XD

I love the shoes...and the humor! Lovely lighting as usual!

Thank you, my dear. The ballet toe shoes were a bit of kitbashing and are from the content by Fabiana I note in the credits. Not all pictures I've seen of Ghost Spider feature those, but some of my favorites do and the picture of a cosplayer that inspired this was actually quite similar to the pose I finally settle on here. =)

lol, fun character, and I suppose they do leave a mess and never clean up, though we are spared that in the comic series

Heh. I figure Spiderman's New York is covered with webs by now. XD

Very nice. Think an unmasked character's face might have prompted a little less contrast but masked it all works fine.

Yes, the bright lighting has it's drawbacks although I like contrasting light and shadows as I'm sure you've noticed. I might try another picture of the character with the mask off to see how it works out. Thanks, JD! =)

What a crazy idea - a masked lady superman with sudden "web shooters", how unusual ... Is she a ballet dancer?

MollyFootman

4:32PM | Wed, 09 February 2022

True, it's crazy, Anne, but I didn't come up with it myself. This is a character from Marvel Comics. You can see her in the animated move "Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse" which I watched not too long ago with my grandsons. As always, thank you for commenting. I always look forward to hearing from you!

Spider Woman! Very cool!

Thank you, Annie. I'm told there is another character, Spider Woman, who wears a very different costume. This one is Ghost Spider (more popularly known as "Spider-Gwen", I'm told). Heh. Listen to me; I'm like full comic book nerd here.... >.<

Now you've go me thinking I'll have to try a picture of Spider Woman! ;P

Cool, and somewhat bizarre, character! Nicely rendered :-)

Heh. Thank you, PerpRe! She's not mine, she belongs to Marvel comics and this would be your fan art. It was inspired by a picture I came across on Flickr of a cosplayer doing a very similar pose at a comic book convention somewhere recently. I know a bit about the character as she appears in the film "Spiderman: into the spiderverse" which I enjoyed with my grandsons recently. They are big Spiderman fans but I rather liked this character: Ghost Spider. =)

Thank you! Although I messed with the materials a lot this one didn't take too long and was a nice break from my Space Rangers story which is really challenging my meager skill. >.<
