I think I could play all day long.. - an ireay render for fun and for testing my latest volumetric shader.😊💖🥰
Not big deal of a shader but, all water has cutout opacity set to zero. Just saying..
No postwork, never ever.

and maybe a touch of blue or green blue...:)

Thank you very much, my dera JD. Water tones weren't my test subjects. Of course it would have looked better in a bit of blue-green tone. As it is here, it's not very natural behaviour, a lot more environment colours in the water would be better. I was interested in water caustics more. And of course, in testing all water with cutout opacity set all to zero. Test any of your water you may have, set cutout opacity to zero and render. You will better see what I mean.

The shader works excellently for pool water, I think. It would also be very good for very pure spring water. It if was to be natural water, as in the ocean, a lake or stream, it might need a bit of tint as JD suggests.

I love you too, my dear Molly. Any tint is not a problem, tint colour can be set with ease. In iray, if you set cutout opacity of the whole water to zero, in most cases it will simply vanish. Anybody having Daz can test it and see what happens. If water doesn't vanish, it still need to have caustics effects without caustics button in render settings being set to on but to off. True water caustics I mean, not projected lights through masks or other tricks. Having both caustics fro lit from above and also lit from underwater it's a bit more difficult, especially when render settings caustics effects button is on Off. As we are chatting, I've added minor improvements to the shader and more properties.😊 Thank you very much for the wonderful words, my dear friend.😊💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I was working on my water shader and also tested an animation for Poser. I had to set narrow render setting to optimize render time in Poser Superfly. On frame 136 it stopped. I checked it and it was the reflecting and refracting caustics. I disabled both caustics - even they ran fine until frame 135 - and rendering worked fine. I restarted the PC and repeated the tests to be sure. I can't tell if anybody will ever have this problem, because I used some extreme render settings, just to squeeze as much as I could, an almost decent compromise between rendering speed and quality at a pretty high resolution 2800 x 1800 roughly. Just remember for animations - under certain circumstances - disabling caustics may fix animation stop rendering problem. On render path 6 frame 136 the render stopped. I suspect a buffer entered an infinite loop, gpu was 100% but running cold, thus no intense computing, just spinning in a loop. This is just my guess, I'm not saying I must be right.

I am going to add a slightly discordant note to the previous praise (deserved by the way). I find that the water looks like frozen water in the process of thawing. It is perhaps its too pure and too white color which makes me think that.
mifdesign
Thank you very much, my dear friend. The water looks a lot like frozen water, if it had a bit of blue, it would look a bit better, you are right. It can be made to look more like water from the shader parametres but, here I was focused on testing the caustic water effects and less looking for the natural final look. The reason is the shader renders particles, not a water plane surface, actually it renders voxels. If you zoom in the water, you may notice the voxels domain.😊💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
For short, you were right, it looks like frozen water.
