Description
Anceata and her brother enjoy an evening stroll astride their trusty (and fuzzy) Fjord horse!
==AMY’S NOTES==
Here’s another scene with a re-used backdrop and new characters. I first used this backdrop in Moonlight Sleigh Ride, which featured Fehn and Vila in a sleigh under a cozy blanket (and the HWHorse Shetland Pony, before I figured out how to make a fuzzy Fjord!)
Sometimes when I have an idea for a scene, like this one, I get distracted by the fact that I don’t have all the elements I need. In this case, I didn’t have winter clothing for Anceata and Semil, so I thought about modeling some. But then I recalled all the rabbit holes I’d probably end up going down in the process and managed to convince myself to just use some custom second skins instead, to give them the appearance of wearing thermals under their clothes! Sometimes simpler is better :-) (Not to say I won’t one day model them some sweaters and leggings, but right now I want to focus on re-engaging with what I love about producing renders!)
Rendered in February 2022 using Firefly in Poser Pro 11 for Mac at 3200 × 1800 pixels. Art effects applied in Painnt for Mac. View full size on my blog.

A very fine and most enjoyable winter scene! Love all the characters in this creation! Your work with the clothing turned out perfectly! A fantastic result! Many fine kudos from me to you on this most excellent work!

It's so good to see you back in the gallery!!! I can relate so well to some of the things you wrote, it doesn't take much to fall down a rabbit hole does it? I have been surrounded by them for days now, nasty things they are. You did a wonderful job with their clothing and the scene!!!
perpetualrevision
Thank you, RubyTuesday! My MacBook is full of abandoned rabbit holes, some of which I may go down again. It sure is easy to do when working with 3D stuff!

A sweet season image.

Great image. I don't think that horse will have any problems carrying them both.
perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment, Kellie! I figure if my Fjords can carry one of me, this one should have no trouble carrying two tiny people like Anceata and Semil :-)

An absolute total delight!!

Adorable! Love the effect you have used, almost looks like a painting.

Thanks, Cassie! I really like how Painnt applies art effects, esp. how it handles the area around eyes and faces, which are so often distorted by other art effects apps. I've always wanted to be able to draw and paint, and b/c I'm not good at either, I turned to Poser, so I was delighted when I found that I could turn renders into art that looks kinda like drawings or paintings! I also like how the art effects seem to "unify" scene elements into the same style.

Lovely, they have so much fun.

Super cute. Wonderful setting

Thank you so much for the comment, uncollared!

The whole thing is a lovely, balanced image that I really enjoyed. The processing to give it the feeling of something hand painted and inked for a book illustration is perfect here. Thank you for sharing your work!

Thank you, Molly! I've always wanted to be able to produce images like this, so I'm delighted that I can with a combo of Poser and art effects apps like Painnt!
Flint_Hawk
This is really an impressive piece! It looks hand drawn!
What a pleasant, well done riding scene! There are times that we need to be very creative to do our art!
perpetualrevision
Thank you, Flint_Hawk! I love the hand drawn look you can get from art effects apps, all the more so b/c I can't hand draw myself! But I can produce that effect with Poser + an art effects app! I particularly like how this Painnt effect handled the fuzzy coat on the Fjord. And the fact that it doesn't seem to mess with characters' eyes (as art effects often do), which seems like some kind of magic trick!

Lovely image, well created.

Another one I keep coming back to, because I love these characters and you've really showcased them here, with a furry steed to boot! the color harmonies are really elegant, too, and the effects app stylized it brilliantly; the relative weight of lines and color blocks feels just right.
Of course there's the tug of story ... I want to know where they're going and what will happen there.
