Description

.. For a comment I made earlier.. On Ute's lovely artwork with the St. Petersberg Cathedral. I was out of line. Certainly, no nation can be defined by whatever leader is at the helm at any given moment. I certainly would not want to see the USA defined by what passed as our previous "leadership." No - a Nation is defined by her people. They are what builds a nation. And I'm sure, like soldiers anywhere those Russian troops are following orders - and as one who served in the Military during the Vietnam debacle - I can pretty much confirm they would much rather be home enjoying a peaceful life with their loved ones. Onward and upward.. This was taken at Powell Gardens here in Missouri a long, long time ago - on film. Remember film? Currently dealing with some depression issues (NOT an excuse), but it always hits about this time of year. It will pass. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope all of us have a good weekend. Stay safe. Pray for peace.

Delightful image, but sad you are depressed. A warm spring day and bit of nature perhaps would do us all the world of good, anything to rise above news of the latest doings of Trump and Boris the Incapable

What you've described can be summed up by when King Louis XIV of France once said, "L'etat, c'est moi." ("I myself am the nation.") We see the same thing in the present day when certain leaders think they're absolute monarchs.

Though I didn't see your comment, you are apologizing for, I appreciate your courage to put things straight, even if this means to admit having made an error! This just testifies character. You know, in today times, it is so common, to make an error and then searching for an excuse to pin it to other people, situations or circumstances without having to admit an error them self. But being able to reflect on them self, to make a step back and revise a deed done earlier and to admit, that it was wrong and then even to apologize has become very rare and if you look into the management of many big and famous companies (but even smaller and less known ones), you won't find that kind of character at all! Narcism has spread widely in our days. Nobody is perfect and we all make errors, but those who have the honesty and the transparency to stand to their errors and taking responsibility to fix them where ever possible, those are the true heroes in my eyes. So, what ever you said, it speaks definitely for you, that you had the balls to apologize, and those are the people who make life worth living and those are the people I search to be around me.

Well done, Rod!

I didn't see the comment, but I can recognize the strength of character to acknowledge you were wrong and apologize.

It takes a lot of character to apologize. You are a good person, Rod, remember that.

These flowers are sweet and the water adds extra life and softness. A beautiful shot. Take care!

Lovely photo. Yes, I remember film. Cut my teeth on B&W. Had a small little darkroom in my parent's basement, underneath the basement steps. I still lug around a DSLR and a few mirrorless cams.
