Description
"you ain't gettin' outa this alive, jack..."
This sweet-looking wave weighed 2 billion tons---that's 2 billion tons in metric (or centigrade, I don't know)---and it hit me 1 minute after I shot it. And that water was COLD, people! I'm talkin' COLD! (I posted a later version of this years back: Same wave, 30 seconds later. At that point, I thought: "Ya know what? this wasn't such a great idea..." I was washed out to sea, and they've been looking for me ever since. I'm now a large igneous rock; I married, moved into an underwater cavern, and we gave birth to 6 slugs, 2 dyslexic starfish, and a tugboat named Liam...)
Thanks for your visits, they're greatly appreciated. Stay well and inspired, all! m
(The wave, btw, is called "Mikhail and Anyeska Yasladovitch")
(hey, if Rod can name his character hepsi, I can name my wave 'Anyeska'...)

I love the colors in this, its like a painting. The greens in the back and browns up front with a slice of blue in between make this such a deep and interesting image. This really is an amazing photo fill with drama. The things we do for our art; getting drenched in cold water gets you extra points and a big Bravo.

Most cool water capture Mark. With the rushing waves smacking against the rocks sure makes this capture marvelous. ❤👀
I can only imagine how cold it was. Amazing you did not get tossed, love your added humor. 😁😃🍻

I've heard tales of giving one's all for the sake of art, but damn... You've taken it to a whole new level, Mark! That's a hellofa capture, but yeah.... I'd be questioning the greatness of an idea like this too! LOL
Really epic photo at any rate!

RIGHT!!!! With the last storms and gale-force winds with 4-metre-high waves, the adrenaline junkies are still venturing out to sea with their surfboards! For me, they're all life-weary or not quite right in the head!
