I'm not sure if "not posting anything here" will change anything in this war or even bring this mind sick dictator to change his mind. I'm not even sure if the Ukrainian People would want us to be quiet. I believe making us shut up or spreading Fear and the world feeling insecure is exactly what he wants. He wants us to be afraid of him and therefore attest him powers he don't really have! We better show solidarity by urging our governments to sanctioning that crazy guy and hinder him form being able to move anywhere at all (personally and financially wise). It would certainly help more if we can make our governments to cut off all resources he possibly still could get and most important the world needs to show China, that we wouldn't accept if they support Putin. But unfortunately our greedy economics made us dependent of china. Maybe this whole Situation would be worth one or the other thought about porting all our manufacturing to china and making us dependent of China. I'm afraid, that once they have collected all our knowledge, they will strike against the whole world and no one in the world will ever be able to stop them...
Just my humble opinion...
UteBigSmile
I thank you (and all the others for their comments), I agree 100%, China is the biggest enemy in our bed after Putin. Every artist here is welcome to keep showing their great looking graphics, I just wanted to show my solidarity for Ukraine and my finished graphics will probably not rot in my folder.

Excellent artwork, Ute, and totally understand your feelings. I'm with you.
But I have to agree whole-hardheartedly with Furnose. Pukin (intentional misspelling) doesn't give a damn about anything else besides looking upon himself as Russia's greatest "Czar" in history. Not posting here will do nothing to end this unjust war. What might have a chance of doing so is what we see happening now, even in Russia - the entire world standing against him.
I just pray that this is not the beginning of the end for all of us.
UteBigSmile
You are right, your wish in God's ear!

can't believe that Russia will kill all soldiers families if they do not surrender. this president of Russia is a devil. i feel for the war victims and protesters.

Indeed he is Steve, for me he is also the product of evil!

I regret that I am beginning to think that Vlad will will unleash his nukes on any country or alliance that tries to stop him. We must continue to hope that he will not succeed. Refusing to post will not do anything to stop him, and, as in the last War, we will need images to keep us cheerful in the face of adversity. I was a child in London during the Blitz. I did not know what was going on - just loud noises in the night. "Keep calm and carry on" - and continue to laugh at Hitler; humour is also a weapon to keep us sane when in such an awful predicament. Vlad will not stop with Ukraine - he wants all the borders restored to what they were under the USSR. If he causes NATO to fight him, I regret that we may well see Armageddon long before we destroy ourselves with climate change etc. Which is why I posted an image (2023?) to represent Europe after Vlad's War.
I posted one of my little funny robot images today to amuse people; and all day long I was thinking of the people in Ukraine. I can't see us reaching the year 2099 at this rate.
UteBigSmile
Then we are post-war children and we both know what it means to grow up in poverty. Thank you for taking the trouble to create so many funny pictures, maybe I can do it again in a few days.

As a Ukrainian with distant relatives still in Ukraine I can see the worldwide support growing hour by hour in condemning the actions of one man for invading a peaceful neighbour for his own personal gain and historical fame. Unfortunately, images and prayers will not stop what is happening. Thanks for keeping Ukraine and the brave, heroic efforts of its people in your thoughts and prayers.

a powerful and well made image. I lived through two wars as a child in the middle east, and for me personally, I don't think that support for the Ukrainian cause means abandoning the things that are meaningful to us; as FurNose eloquently put it, just the opposite.
UteBigSmile
Please read my answer to FurNose!

I myself am a post-war child from 1946 and until I was 10 years old I knew what it means to live in poverty, but like so many others I survived it despite everything. If I had to tighten the strap again, I could do it, which the younger generation would never be able to do!!!

My prayers goes to those fighting against that Tyrant in Russia. Excellent work and commentary.

Trop triste tout ça Ute

I'm not going too add to the thread beyond noting that a psychopathic wacko won't keep Ute from posting....or anyone else I hope.

Creating art in protest to Putin's advances is great and encouraged. I'm not sure how not posting more art work here is a protest to Putin's insanity. Putin does not know or care who we are and I'm not going let his madness affect how I enjoy my life. I feel terrible for all the innocent people he is killing and affecting and whose lives he is unjustly destroying to satisfy his ego. Create art in the spirit of peace. Are there any Ukrainian artists here? I send strong hope and positive wishes to them.
UteBigSmile
Yes there are 2, one is an artiste and the other is a vendor!

I'm not sure if "not posting anything here" will change anything in this war, that i agree with..i do without a doubt support the Ukraine, and so do many other people and nations, this madman's insanity won't prevail, i truly believe a united show of force and intervention from every nation opposed to this, would stop this in its tracks....nip it in the bud before it goes to far...
UteBigSmile
Oh' I hope it, I really hope it, many thank's for your comment!

No, make noise. Noise for Ukraine, noise for our world.
If this kicks off, and I sincerely hope it does not, we're all sunk. Not just Europe.
Not a nice thought.
Post for Ukraine, post for peace. Hope to God it comes soon.
Blasted Putin!

I fully understand, Ute...you are giving deep, supportive silence to everyone who's suffering now. I will post something for this terrible war soon---I just haven't found the words yet. I knew many Russians and Ukrainians through my childhood and teens; and I studied with many. I just haven't found the words yet...But I posted for someone who is very ill (covid), and a few pieces just to spread some light. But I fully understand what you wrote. Whether through light or silence, I hope that the carnage in Ukraine will stop. And, as you've said, we all should honor the huge resistance that Ukrainians are staging---they're stopping the Russian army with hand-made weapons! And, as you say, we should honor the immensely brave Russian citizens: Protest, in Russia, can be deadly. Thank you for your uploads. I'll get to your other uploads soon, but for now I wanted to acknowledge your moving images for the Ukraine.
UteBigSmile
Thank you Mark, you at least understand why I did it, I hope it will be over soon, I hope it for the ukrainien und the russian people who dont wont, like we, no war, just peace. I think that our politicians are somehow cowardly, because they could do something about it, but unfortunately they have only recently woken up from their slumber. May the spiritual world hold its hand protectively over all of us, so that more mischief does not emanate from this despot - Amen!

very dramatic battle scene. I hope that putin will withdraw his assassins' squads

Very powerful image. About posting picture, I also agree with Furnose. It's very important that we not give in to despair, but remember that good and truth will ultimately win.

An excellent picture and an admirable sentiment, Ute. I was at a rally last evening in support of the people of Ukraine and I hope the world remains united against this unjustified, naked aggression by the Russian Federation and, more specifically, Valdimir Putin.
Thank you for sharing your work and your thoughts.

You have captured the horribleness of war in your work! It is something we pray will end soon, so that peace can return!

Rant, rave, shout, pray, post... do whatever it takes to make a change, no effort is too small. Your art makes a difference.

we can't make a picture together and then sell it. We can donate the money to Ukraine.
