Description
The farther they traveled from the station, the closer they got to the ship. She began to relax more, even started to enjoy the open ride through space, Her eyes roved over the various vessels they passed. Finally they were gliding along the side of the ship as Navarre navigated them towards the upper aft,
"I thought it was just an ugly ship." She nearly gasped in awe. "But it's completely hard shielded."
"The warp engines even have closing shielding." Navarre indicated with pride. "She may be just an ugly little freighter, but she's tougher than she looks."
"And equipped with deflector screens?"
"Combat grade shielding." Navarre glanced over curiously. In her awe of the ship, she was allowing a bit more of what she knew escape in small hints.
"Top warp capability?" She was suddenly wide eyed and all questions.
"Four."
"No way!" She nearly choked out.
"Way." Navarre laughed. "She carries a standard warp system, but it has been beefed up a little bit." He hesitated for a moment as the name on the nacelle loomed before them. "Now that I am in business; I think that can be enhanced a bit more later on."
"I have seen the specs on this freighters before, but nothing that matched this one before."
"She's special." Navarre grinned as he slipped the pod over the top of the nacelle and headed for the landing bay, which had already started opening below them. "You're about to be surprised."
"A shuttle bay?" She shook her head. "And the engine are in the wrong place." Her eyes were dancing back and forth along the hull as she took it all in. "An enlarge hull section." She shook her head. "Who did such an overhaul of this ship?"
"She has a long history." Navarre angled the pod for the landing bay. "Welcome home."
She settled back in the seat, a slow smile spreading over her face, "Home."
