Description
I told Cookie I wanted to try doing some portrait renders, and she got rather dramatic about it.

Beautiful!!! You know I love some goth.

Thank you! With most of my renders, I'm pretty sure I'm coming up with stuff entirely out of my own imagination, but with this one I kinda feel like I've seen something similar. Could it have been one of your goth Cookie renders? I love the goth style, esp. the way you use it, but it's not something I've had much experience in creating. That Dream Cookies: Meringue character was just made for it, though. Thanks again for pointing me to those lovely characters!

It's always sad to see a Drama Cookie crumbling under the self-produced stress . . . Lovely pose work!
perpetualrevision
Thanks for the comment! She only got dramatic for a moment (long enough for me to run the cloth simulation and do the render), and then she went back to her jolly toony self :-)
Darkglass
Great looking toon character...Super pose and wonderful look, very gothic...would be really cool to turn her into... Maleficent...!!..lovely image and work..
perpetualrevision
Thank you for the comment! That would make this my first goth render, then :-) I love that style but don't have much experience with it. Cookie makes everything fun!
UteBigSmile
Your new image looks as always very nicely done and the lil Drama Queen looks pretty good!
perpetualrevision
Thank you so much for the comment, Ute! She is indeed a little Drama Queen here :-)
CoolDimension
Great dramatic picture!

Love it!!!
Antiques are still useful!
Radar_rad-dude
She is a very saucy looking little vamp isn't she? A fine character and image! Bravo!

cookie never look so amazing. well done. wish that hair worked for V4.
perpetualrevision
Does that hair not work with V4? It's made for V4, but I haven't tried using it on her. I consider hair to be "universal" (rather than figure specific), so I tend to just parent the hair model's head actor to the main figure's head and then use various dials to make it fit well enough for whatever camera angle I'm going for. This hair definitely did not have a "fit" for Cookie, but it wasn't too hard to adjust for her!

She is fantastic. Great lighting
perpetualrevision
Thank you! I love how the lighting plays off of the materials on her dress, which is all the more reason I'm bummed that I can't recall which material set I used! I also kinda like how portrait lighting doesn't have to make "sense" in a scene, since the point is to light the subject, not for the light to come from logical sources!
MollyFootman
Well! You prove again that old content still renders quite well in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing. The pose and disdainful expression are really charming. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you, Molly! I don't know much about doing portrait renders, as I typically prefer to do scenes that tell a story. But there's some creative freedom that comes with portraits, esp. with lighting, so I've been curious about trying one, and Cookie made it fun (and funny)! This one makes me smile every time I look at it :-) I'm going to try doing a few more portraits, perhaps of some of Nursoda's people, just to experiment more with the possibilities!
Flint_Hawk
I've never seen Cookie look so dramatic! You have done an awesome job on this!
perpetualrevision
Well she cracked up shortly after the render finished, and I can still hear her giggling, so the drama queen act didn't last long :-)
mifdesign
Delightful composition, wonderful pose and expression, brilliant render. Exquiste Artwork. I love it!
perpetualrevision
Thank you so much for the comment! I started with a pose preset and then adjusted it to suit the scene, so I can't take full credit for the pose. But the lighting was all me!

The lighting, color work, and assets in this render just feel so painterly, with more than a touch of old-school Hollywood glamor. Cookie feels bigger than life here, like a film star.
