Description
From space; it looked like a high radioactive burning planet; all created by the defensive shield. Even high intensity sensor scans could not penetrate the advanced shielding. Above the planet, a region of space seemed to shimmer for a moment; an explosion of light as though the very fabric of space had been ripped open.

SO the radiation was only an illusion?
coyoteviper
the radiation is real, but the effect to the planet is the illusion. the radiation shield operates outwards; not inward.
