Emzac needs some love, just imagine a pixar movie about a digital artist who's runtime characters come to life. : -)

OMG, can you imagine if all the figures in your runtime started knocking on your screen, letting you know that they're ready for their close-ups?! Maybe some of y'all would be entertained by the various humans who'd be popping in to say hi, but I have WAY MORE creatures of various types than humans, so I might have to go hide under the sofa :-) Some of the Summoner figures I have are only allowed to come out when I'm sound to sleep!

He looks like one very happy alien. Look how it looks like the view is looking out a peep hole. Great job

Thanks for the comment. I had mostly set everything else up when it occurred to me to see what kind of expressions he could make, and I was delighted to discover that he can smile Because I like happy creatures much better than the other kind :-)

I'm glad that there aren't any aliens or big bad monsters in my runtime! But I sure like what you have done with yours!

Thanks so much for the comment! I have a soft spot for creature of various types, so I've amassed quite a collection, but I like them best when they can look friendly or cute. So I was delighted to discover I could make EmZac smile :-)

Thanks for the comment! I pulled out a few tricks for lighting in Firefly, but I'm sure this would've looked better in Superfly... if I could use it!

Heh. This version of Emzac looks a bit friendlier than the one in my library! =)

Creative idea to introduce him, Amy, I can almost hear him knocking on my monitor screen. Thee lighting is remarkable, especially considering you're relying on Firefly shaders to produce it. Really good work!

Thanks for the comment, Molly! I love creature figures of all kinds, but I do tend to prefer making them cute or friendly, where possible. I was delighted to discover that EmZac could smile, even though his smile is still a bit creepy! The lighting makes use of some tricks I do with inverse linear and inverse square point lights in Firefly. The result is similar to using mesh lights in Superfly. You can use mesh lights in Firefly if you enable IDL, but I didn't even do that. The other lights in this scene are an infinite moon (reddish) and an old-school IBL light w/ an HDR image :-)

Very cute and entertaining imagine, wonderful POV! the lighting is just perfect and really makes the lovely tones stand out. And I love the sparkles in his eyes too. Now let's just hope he comes in peace! :)

Thanks for the comment! The POV was fun to do, although posing EmZac's fingers was surprisingly challenging. I don't think he (and particularly his hands) were meant to be used this close to the camera!! I also love how the colors came out in this. And as for coming in peace, that's a condition of being part of my runtime crew :-)

Thanks so much for the comment! The camera angle was fun to do, even if it did reveal some oddities in EmZac's fingers. But he is based on Herr Cadaver, so I guess I should've expected it!
