"You might say I'm a dreamer"
I have loved photography since I was a child and also love graphic art (I am the kind of person that WILL buy a book or CD for its cover) but sadly I only became aware of 3D art after crossing paths with Dragonluna. I immediately fell in love with her work and after a while decided to give it try, mostly because I wanted to make pics to go along with a fanfic I was writing. I am neither a writer nor a 3D artist, I just like to daydream and have ideas and fantasies, and I love anything that has to do with visual art. I am still very limited with the program and have loads to learn and I am also quite fearful of posting my pics considering the high quality of the renders on this site, but I guess we all have to start somewhere and this is where I start, sharing my fantasies with you. Thank you for the taking the time to look at my work. :)

Happy that they have a nice big open road to jog on. A fun man and dog image.
RubyTuesday70
Thank you Steve! It started out with a different background but then I saw this one and I figured, meh, why not? In the 3D world anything is possible right? :)
eekdog
I agree.

Looks like Rodrigo's new friend will be good for his soul, heart, AND body! Puppies have a lot of energy to burn, but by the end that road, he'll probably be ready to be carried home :-) What a delightful scene!
RubyTuesday70
lol, yes, I love how puppies are playing like wild one minute and sleeping profoundly the next. :D I thought maybe the background was a little over the top but like I said earlier, why not? I am having fun with this pair, their adventures are not over, there is a lot more to come!
hashdoc
they still have a long way to run :)
RubyTuesday70
They sure do!!! I know I wouldn't make it that far but maybe they will! lol
gaius

Thank you gaius! I spent a lot of time on the composition so I really appreciate the feedback.

Wonderful scene! This situation will change within the next year. He will have a hard time chasing the puppy :D

OMG melts my heart, beautiful puppy... that's just adorable, I want him! lol Great render, solid posing and lighting.
RubyTuesday70
Thank you so much!!! I will see if he(she? I haven't decided yet actually) has a little sister or brother! :D Hugs!

This is a delightful composition with his hair flying as he looks back toward his little pal and the puppy's ears and tongue flapping as it scampers for all it's worth to keep up. It's beautiful to have them running toward the light, too. All very effective in conveying such positive energy. =)
The only thing that distracts me a little (and I mean a little... minuscule... nitpicking; that's just me) is the shadows they cast seem a bit dark in comparison to the totality of the scene. I expect that the shadows are actually physically correct but... >.<
Again, though, this is a very lovely and effective composition!

Ok, see, after finally finishing this and posting it here on rendo I looked at it and said to myself "but are those shadows to dark?", and also wondered why I didn't think of it earlier (since I spent a LOT of time on the light and staring at pics on the internet of people with shadows). This is what happened: I started worked on this image with a hemisphere onto which I had added that background in place of the original. The shadows in all those test renders are lighter, you can still make out the concrete texture beneath. But the image in the background lost quality and was also a tad bit crooked and that was bothering the heck out of me. So at the last minute I decided to try rendering the scene without the hemisphere and adding the background in photoshop. Well, the rendered scene without the hemisphere came out much darker (I guess the hemisphere adds light too like the skydome? Good lord, I am still so ignorant with the lighting, most of what I do is trial by error, lol). But of course I was able to lighten in up in Photoshop, except the results were still slightly different. On top of that I also gave the image a bit more contrast and that darkened the shadow even more. At that point I was wondering if I should do something about it, and went back to look at more pics of people standing in the sun in the afternoon and found photos with both lighter shadows and darker ones (as you can see I am just as nitpicky as you). So I decided to leave everything as is, although I may eventually go back and try lightening them up again just to see what happens.
In any case, I love constructive criticism so I appreciate that you expressed your thoughts regarding the shadows, and even more so I am happy that the render gave you such positive vibes. I was listening to the song the whole time I was working on it and it gave me such a good feeling, I was hoping that it would come across to the viewers. have a wonderful weekend Mollz!

Who needs more..........after all dogs are a mans best friend........
RubyTuesday70
Hey, great to see you back! And so true..... I told myself "no more dogs" after losing the last one I had but that only lasted about 3 months. The next thing you know I'm staring at this cute little face on a Facebook post and dialing the number beneath it.

Awesome work!

In response to: {Ok, see, after finally finishing this...}
Hey Ruby! I just wanted to say again how much I enjoyed the picture even with my one nit picked! XD
Lighting drives me nuts, too, and I really had to smile as you explained the tortured path you took trying to get it right as it felt so familiar. I am still learning lighting and am always looking for feedback and tips. I look forward to your next picture as I expect I'll enjoy it. <3

Be', manco da un pezzo, quante immagini stupende hai creato nel frattempo? Davvero realistico il movimento di entrambi, una bellezza questa corsa a perdifiato dei due amici, picture perfect!
RubyTuesday70
Thank you my dear!!! Si, l'ispirazione si è risvegliata (per fortuna) e ne ho ancora diverse in mente per questa coppia!!!
