Description

As Yweeb the Astronaut has just discovered, when the store’s that far away, it really sucks when you forget the milk. ==AMY’S NOTES== I started setting up this scene a few years ago, shortly after I got the Astronaut House set, as part of the process of trying to figure out how 1971s does his promo renders. I still don’t know how he does it, but it was fun to get this result! Rendered in March 2022 using Firefly in Poser Pro 11 for Mac at 3200 × 1800 pixels. Depth cue atmosphere enabled. View full size on my blog. ==CREDITS== SCENE: Astronaut House by 1971s; Moonscapes by Petipet. CHARACTER: Yweeb by Nursoda; space helmet for Cookie by trumacar.

I used to hate it when I forgot something when the grocery store was only 20 minutes away. I can't imagine it when you live this far out! And no Door Dash or Uber Eats either! OK, I can forget about living on the moon base now :-)

Yikes! Make that another long trek across the galaxy just for a pint or two of the white stuff! LOL! Marvelous scifi scene! Most excellent results!

Nice render, I wonder if he could pick up eggs and lactose free milk. :-)

How much would it suck if he realized he went all that way for milk and it WASN'T the lactose free kind?! Thanks for the comment :-)

Great setting awesome lighting. I hate when I forget something in the car that I have to go back out for. :)

Thanks for the comment! The lighting was fun to do. Having to go back to the car to get something can be such a drudge! Ah, the inconveniences of modern life... :-)

Oh, dear! I've always loved that astronaut house scene and did a rendering of it long ago. Now I have to dig it back out and look at it again. I didn't fully enjoy this one until I looked at the full resolution version and more clearly saw Yweeb carring the sack of groceries. I feel his pain! XD

Thanks for sharing it, Amy! =)

Glad you enjoyed seeing Yweeb with his sack of groceries from the intergalactic grocery store :-) I'd love to see what you'd do with a set like this, so I hope you do dig out your earlier work! I've been enjoying the other older scenes you've been sharing with us :-)

Glad it gave you a chuckle, Flint_Hawk! Yweeb does a convincing impression of a bedraggled intergalactic grocery shopper :-)

A lady I used to work with use to say "When you don't have it in the head, you better have it in the feet!" Like your lighting. It came out really well!

Thanks for the comment, and those are good words to live by! Although I might add: if you don't have it in your head, you better WRITE IT DOWN somewhere :-)

Yweeb with an astronaut helmet is brilliant. Love it! 😻

Thank you so much for the comment, dragongirl! Would you believe that was about the fourth or fifth helmet I tried on Yweeb? He complained that the other ones pinched or made his head look too squashed. But this one (originally made for Cookie) was apparently "just right" :-)

Yes, better not forget essential stuff like milk for intergalactic travel. Excellent sci-fi atmosphere!

I love the astronaut house so much for a variety of reasons (one of them being its visual pun on a famous Soviet space monument) but also ... the workadayness of it, and the notion of a very long commute for milk is amusingly realized here (I have a render in mind with someone stumping out to the rocket still carrying their cup of morning coffee, because needs must)
