Description
I spline modelled this horse in around 2 hours
Next step is a little mesh tweaking, boning and then texturing.
Tell me what you think, all comments welcome.

I'm still at the "just thinking about it" stage, so I can't offer any technical advice yet. You will need to work on the proportions, which I'm sure you intend doing e.g. hooves should be smaller, neck longer and underside of neck should thicken towards the body and join the chest lower down, chest not quite so deep compared to hindquarters, hindquarters perhaps a bit deeper (hip to haunch) and legs perhaps a little shorter or else lengthen the body. Shoulder looks well-constructed as are the leg shapes. I think it's a very good start and I will eagerly await further developments!!

Thanks for your comment, it is always good to 'see' your work from someone elses view. You're spot on about proportion, I intend to make some changes and then mirror the end version. Thanks for the detail you have gone to in your explanation also. Once mirrored, I will post a front and back view as well.

I like it, looks like a cartoony horse. If you are going for a more realistic, it seems like the hooves and the body is out of proportion to the head. Make the neck longer and size up the head some. Can't wait to see this final image! Keep up the good work. (Never can figure out dang splines, I can draw lines, thats about it! haha)

Great start and look forward to seeing more of it. The area that looks like it could use a good reference picture to me is the head. Agree with the other details pointed out already but depending on what you're going to use it for and what kind of texture you apply a lot of them will be hard to see. Just my 2 cents.... good work!

Good point brschmidt, I am putting more detail into the head for a close up camera. And refining the mesh, but like you said, I also feel that once I give it a detailed texture, some flaws would be hard to see.
