What an amazingly colorful face! The white and black of the body does such a nice job of setting off the jewel colors in the face and feet, almost like Mother Nature was going for a bit of subtle drama! I love that we get to see both a close-up standing version of the bird and one in flight. Beautiful!

The colors of the spout and feet are gorgeous and give a nice contrast to the clean white feathers.

Beautiful image, has the feel of a classic Gould illustration.
The one thing I would say, for added realism, is to note how different families of birds fly; in this case, gannets and boobies almost never feather their wings the way the one in the background is depicted, they tend to keep the pinions tight and a high aspect/narrow wing shape at all times, even when coming to roost. As wonderful as Ken's models are, the wing geometry is quite often a little out.

The red-footed booby is a real eye-catcher! The turquoise-colored beak also stands out, as does the B&W wing coloring... especially in flight! Thank you for sharing this beautiful image!
