Stardate 1500.34: The Hood has been stopped from entering the orbit of the innermost planet of the M78 planet by a pair of giants with silver and red markings adorning their bodies and which seemingly have a source of power in their body. Due to the radiation present in this system, our sensors cannot determine more than this. Though no hostility has been detected, they've made every effort to prevent us from nearing the planet. While certainly exciting the science team at meeting a new life form, considering the fact the sun is dead and the planet is glowing with a sun like intensity has surprised the science team more. The current theory is that the giants are the inhabitants of the planet who through processes unknown transformed their world into the one before us in response to the Sun's death. As such, I will be talking with the officers in two shifts to determine how best to establish communications with these giants.
