Description

Non-Player Character Brytag Fugitive Knight of Tumbru (i.e. Warrior-Priest of Chaos) Female Eshmirian: Warrior (Assassin)/Priest (Slortar)/Sorcerer 5’3” 95 lbs (light + 1 D10 lbs (+5 lbs)), age 25 Stolen from her home in Eshmir as a child and taken to the Enclave of Tambra when her aptitude for sorcery was detected by one of their knights, Brytag loyally served their patron Lord of Chaos, Slortar the old, or so she thought until discovering that the mercenary high priests were using her as an assassin for their own profit. Escaping from their fortress above Lhasa in Phum, she survived the perilous snow clogged mountain road known as the “stairway to Shenkh”, only to became lost in the forest of Troos where she fell victim to Orgen beast-men, but was rescued by the renegade Dragon Lord, Daeron Syn. Amazed to meet a living Melnibonean, the race of Tambra, who she’d been told had died out millennium ago, she swore to serve him, but he declined her offer, deferring her to an Argimiliaran noblewoman and scholar, Androminda Feraer, for whom he was gathering unique plants from the bizarre forest. Finding sanctuary in Cadsandria, but knowing that the Knights of Tambra, known in the west as the Warrior-Priests of Chaos, will eventually find her, she continues to serve Slortar loyally while acting as Androminda’s bodyguard, but does occasionally accepts contracts as an assassin when she believes it’s the will of the Lords of Chaos and her patron in particular. Witty, shrewd and often daring to the point foolhardiness, Brytag was raised to put her faith in Slortar, the patron of the Enclave, and its high priests. Barely remembering her life before, she found meaning and purpose as a willing, skilled assassin and loyal knight of the order, until her world was shattered when she discovered she’d been betrayal, leaving her bitter and skeptical. However, those few who win her trust find her a loyal and fervent friend with a biting capricious humor. She occasionally suffers from bouts of fatalism (see Infliction below), feeling that Slortar has predetermined her fate, which manifests as either becoming daring and reckless to the point of near suicide or periods of depression and feelings of hopeless. Brytag’s petite frame is well favored with ripe feminine charms and cures, as well as subtle muscles, while her slanted bright emerald eyes and pale, lightly gilded, exotically beautiful features are framed by a wild mane of rich red hair. Though she’s lived in the Enclave her entire adult life, she retains the soft lilting brogue distinctive to Eshmir. Brytag preferred weapon is her extremely rare critical quality demonic Valni bow, Farsting (attack 116% (+31% bonus), damage 1 D10+1 D6+2, range 450’ (900’), or attack 11% (+31% bonus)/parry 12% (+21% bonus), 2-handed, damage 1 D6 (+1 D6 bonus), melee, demon weapon (+2 D10 damage), distance (double range (900’)), venom (CON vs CON (20) or CON poison damage (20 points), save = ½ CON poison damage (10 points) & immune from further poison attacks), bond greater demon, CON 20, SIZ 3, INT 10, POW 23, need: have bow string rubbed with poison (class 1) daily), carrying a quiver full of short heavy-headed arrows (12), but also wields a critical quality demonic scimitar, Sorrowclaw (attack 110% (+31% bonus)/parry 111% (+21% bonus), right, or attack 55% (+31% bonus)/parry 55% (+21% bonus), left, or damage 1 D8+1 D6+1, acid (+1 D8 acid damage, 40% chance to destroy nonmagical weapons used to parry or armor struck, POW (21) vs CON to reduced demon armor protect by 1 D8 until regenerated, POW (21) vs POW vs virtuous armor to reduce protection by 1 D8), demon weapon (+2 D10 damage), bond greater demon, INT 14, POW 21, need: to be polished daily) and a critical quality dagger (attack 108% (+31% bonus)/parry 106% (+21% bonus), left, or attack 94% (+31% bonus)/parry 98% (+21% bonus), right, damage 1 D4+1 D6+2, melee, or attack 98% (+31% bonus) (+21% ½ juggle), left, or attack 102% (+31% bonus) (+21% ½ juggle), right, damage 1 D4+1 D6+2, range 50’, thrown), while her critical quality demonic leather armor, Smoothhide (2 D6-2 armor, absorb missile (100% chance to disregard non-magical missiles (fails on 99-00)), demon armor (+3 D10 armor), regenerate (self, 1 hit point/round), slick (secretes oily sheen, DEX x 4% to escape grip/bonds or squeeze through tight spaces), bond greater demon, CON 29, SIZ 9, INT 8, POW 26, 29 hit points, need: to be rubbed with fine oil daily), consists of a pair of black leather boots, leggings, shirt, corset, bracers, spaulders and cuisse. Skilled in the martial arts, she’s an expert in unarmed combat (kick (attack 116% (+31 bonus)/parry 91% (+21% bonus), left, or attack 118% (+31% bonus)/parry 92% (+21% bonus), right, damage 1 D6), punch (attack 119% (+31% bonus)/parry 94% (+21% bonus), left, or attack 121% (+31% bonus)/parry 96% (+21% bonus), right, damage 1 D3+2)) wearing steel reinforced gloves (cestus) to protect her hands and increase the damage she does. She generally has a several hundred LB (3 D6+6 x 100LB) in coins and gems but may have considerably more if she’s recently taken on an assassination contract. Thaks again for all your kind comments and interest. Brytag is recycled from a previous campaign where I went into the story of Syn rescuing her from the Orgen beast-men.

Thanks again for all your kind comments and interest! Brytag's history has developed over years of popping up in our Stormbringer campaign, sometimes as a "damsel in distress" but most often as additional "muscle" when the group needs an archer.
