The Japanese Cormorant is one of the species of cormorant that has been domesticated by Japanese fishermen to catch fish.

Beautiful and fun scene! I've heard about cormorants being trained to help fisher folk, but it's such an interesting concept I'd enjoy seeing a little mini-documentary about how that came to be! Obviously the birds must feel like there's something in it for them, but how handy to have nature's "experts" help with the fishing!

there use be a cormorant here and it would follow myself and my dogs. I kept trying to get it to leave because my former large dog had a bad habit of wanting to kill birds
