Description
I have had Alessandro's fantastic pteranodon model in my sights for some time. Last night it was on offer, so like some ancient pterodactyl I swooped from the skies to quickly grab it for my own.
Alessandro has done a bang up job on this sculpt and he has a number of different Pteranodon morphs as seperate characters, including the one in the foreground, which is based on the Geosternbergia species (Pteranodon sternbergi (Geosternbergia). Note the attention to detail- such as the picofibres- hair like protofeathers that cover the beast as they would in life.
If these creatures were even half as aggressive as sea gulls then I pity any dinosaurs trying to eat their ice creams while these creatures were flying over!
This species of Pteranodon also featured in David Armsby's excellent dinosauria series on You Tube, which can be found here: https://youtu.be/WHzX5T5PjBE

Thank you for the nature lesson, and especially thank you for the interesting art! I like the first, more brightly lit example with two creatures visible better. I guess that's mostly because I like the colors (especially the colorful head crests) and they are more easily appreciated in the lighter image. =)
