Description
Aina put up a fuss when Fehn first asked her to babysit Noor so that Fehn could have dinner out, but in truth Aina relishes the chance for a little baby bonding time :-)
==AMY’S NOTES==
For some reason, this render took an unusually long time, longer than any other scene I’ve rendered with DOF enabled. I did not have IDL enabled, and there aren’t any reflective materials, but something clearly bogged down the render at about 65% of the way through. I waited it out, but dang, I hate hearing my MacBook work that hard!
(Poser’s log said the render took 18446744949882880.00 seconds, but since that doesn’t translate into 55 minutes, I think that’s just Poser’s way of saying, "Holy crap, you made me work too hard!")
Rendered in April 2022 using Firefly in Poser Pro 11.3 for Mac at 3200 × 1800 pixels. DOF enabled. View full size on my blog.

OMG!!! this is sooooo sweet. Warm and comforting. Love this one so much.

Thanks! I wasn't at all sure at first how Noor would work with Aina, but once I scaled him down a bit and moved him into position, it looked like he belonged right there :-) I'm not sure if I'm imagining Aina to be Fehn's mother or other family member, but all Nursoda people know each other, so at the very least they're friends :-)

This is such an adorable scene! You can really feel the comforting love!

Thanks for the comment! I was really pleased with how well Noor settled into Aina's arms! I often use Aina with a somewhat grouchy or exasperated expression, so I was also pleased by how sweetly she can smile :-)

Adorable render.

I've had that happen to me as well once in awhile, stalled image render for no apparent reason. Just had to grin and tolerate it though without figuring it out. Sometimes I think it might be the hair but that is only a guess. A sweet and charming image! Very delightful work! Bravo!

Thanks for the comment! Yes, some hair models definitely slow things down a lot (like some plants), but this hair is pretty quick, and the render stalled further down (below where the hair is). I checked all the materials for weird things and didn't find anything, so who knows! But it was worth the wait :-)

So sweet...:)

Thank you! I originally set out to show more of your charming interior for the Rural Cottage, but Aina and Noor came out looking better than I'd thought they would, so I couldn't help but zoom in closer to them :-) I love your scenes with Aina cooking on the stove in the cottage and with Fehn looking at her baby!

Beautiful work! Fantastic expression and posing!

I don't use Firefly much any more. Sometimes, when it slowed like that, I would cancel the rendering (which leaves a partial picture in the rendered images window) and then start a second rendering as an area render with the lower portion of the picture, breaking the process into two halves. I'm not sure that it helped but it seemed to.
As for the picture, it warms this grandmother's heart as it so nicely depicts my feelings about the better moments of babysitting (especially when they were REALLY babies). I like the light from the fire and might even have increased it slightly and decreased the fill light for the background a bit to highlight Aina's sublime expression and the baby she is cuddling. <3
Thank you for sharing... it really touched me and I will consider it as a birthday present as I marked another year of earthly existence today. XD

Aw, happy birthday Molly! And yes, I totally meant this as a birthday dedication for you... in a universe in which I knew it was your birthday before I made it! :-)
Thanks for the tip about using an area render to finish a bogged down render. I'll try that next time!
As for the lighting, I agree that it would've been nice to have more of the orange glow on the left side of their faces and more darkness on the right side of the room. That's what I was going for, but I couldn't get it to work for some reason. I think when I ran the render through the Camera Raw filter in Photoshop, it also lightened the left side of the image more than I should've allowed it to. I also could've done some other touchups with curves adjustments and masks and so on. But I've gotten kind of used to getting more or less what I want from the render (adding only the Camera Raw filter), so I forget to use all the other tools available in Photoshop!

Very nice work! Great expression!

Thanks! Usually when I have Aina in a scene, I have her looking kinda grumpy, so it was nice this time to have her smiling sweetly! The Noor does a sweet smile too, to no one's great surprise :-)

Ahh, this is so sweet, wonderful work

Thank you for the comment! It now occurs to me that maybe I should've saved this idea for Mother's Day, as I don't do this sort of image often. But it popped into my head the other day and then I set to work :-)

I am 25% happier for this image.

I'm glad to have contributed some small amount to your happy feels :-)
