Description
I realize that some attribute the death of loved ones to COVID. Please do not mistake my sense of humor for disrespect or insensitivity; I don't wish disease or discomfort on anyone nor do I belittle anyone's suffering. I have my own collection of pains which incapacitate me from time to time even though others don't understand. It's OK. We are all individuals. Others do not have to understand my pain.
What I DO want is take the opportunity to enjoy life and to see humor where I find it without being shamed, doxed, ridiculed or anything else. Sometimes you just have to laugh at stuff because there is no other way forward. It is in this spirit that I present this work.
For my part I have been skeptical of just how serious the COVID threat was the entire time. Keep in mind my own brother was hospitalized and on forced respiration for some time, diagnosed with COVID. I do get it, there were people sincerely threatened by COVID. I wore a mask when requested to do so; anytime I was in a place where masks were requested or required, I wore one without complaint. I regarded it the way I would a request to take off my shoes in someone's house; it was a matter of simple respect for the concerns of others. My wife was inoculated and she worked at a place where they administered the vaccines. I never bothered her about it. Her beliefs are as valid as mine.
I never got the vaccine. I work in customer service and talk to the public even going so far as to shake hands with those who want to on a daily basis. Without gloves on. I'm fine, thank you for asking. I also found it interesting that when Ukraine happened COVID and Dr. Fauci and safe child dosing and mortality rates and all related topics magically fell off the edge of the planet. Let's just say I have my reservations while still respecting the opinions of others.

Well, I've had all the other ones, but I'll happily take these - and anything else she wants to offer... For my continued good health, I mean of course!
Sweet work, Jim!
It's all a personal preference, and one of the advantages of living in a 'free' society is the right and ability to make ones' own choices. And to be able to intelligently discuss current events.
Indeed, COVID had pretty much monopolized the media for at least 2 - 2-1/2 years, so when Putin did his thing, it became the major news item, and yeah, COVID hardly gets mentioned. We still wear our masks frequently, though...
I think a lot of it boils down to 2 things: Your overall bodily health, and your attitude. We both are in relatively good shape for +70 years, and we both went into this thing with the attitude that "We are NOT getting this COVID thing!" We did get the shots - heck they were free, so why not..

I think there is a lot to your idea of starting with good general health. I respect you taking the measures you think necessary to maintain that.
You are bang-on-point about where my ... disengagement??... is centered - COVID dominated the news until a new viable news topic presented itself. As soon as Ukraine proved marketable, news-centric programmers didn't need to continue pushing the pandemic narrative to keep up viewership so they could sell advertising space. Yes, I can be a suspicious one!
Congratulations on staying healthy with respect to COVID and continued success with all the rest! Rest assured, Lacey is just here to help!

Nice one... I for one got my shots... I figured better safe than sorry. and since its free and all hey... I know this thing is still hanging around, I just wish it would just disappear already so we can back to something more normal. I'm guilty of making work like this too.. I say people should not take it to seriously.

Thank you! Laugh and let laugh, I say!
I'm not saying anyone should ever carelessly make jokes that personally offend another; that's just mean. What I do say, and what I think I hear you saying, is make room in your life to see things from each other's perspective. Who knows, people of different opinions might even come to understand each other! What a wonderful world this would be if people (myself included) could be counted on to treat each other with respect whether we agree with each other or not!
Congratulations on staying healthy with respect to COVID and continued success with all the rest!
