I started working on this in late February, but due to my dad's hospitalization, I had to put off finishing it until a few days ago. It's quite different from what I'd originally planned. The story has also changed quite a lot. It's part of a project I'm working on. Sadly, no animation. The black bars and subtitles were added in post. I just thought it would be fun to give it a cinematic feel. This scene is not long after the main character, Van, is saved from her ship. Her father sends her off for her own safety, unaware that he sends a traitor alongside her. Thanks to a fisherman and his wife, Van is saved from the burning ship. Van has always pretended that war was such a far away thing. But now she knows how close it draws to her people, and prays that she will see her home and her father again. Everyone in the scene plays some part in her life. An unexpected family. She's in a much older render of mine, though as I said, the story is much different than I originally described.
