I had a 1970 Challenger, bought it used in 73 for $1300. It didn't have the 383 engine, but the 318 cu.inch. Even so, it was a fast car because of being on the light side. If I had it today, you could add more zeros after that price and make some serious money. Had fun off it, thought.

I haven't had the chance to own that car yet, but I have had a '69 Charger and a '72 442! The 442 was way more than I expected. I made it lift the front off the ground once and decided I'd better take it easy with that beast!

Wasn't the 442 an Oldsmobile? You lifted the front wheels because of all the torque from that big engine. Today's 4 cylinder, turbo engines can put out some respectable horsepower numbers, but they don't have that kind of brute force torque. Do you collect old cars? You said you had a Charger. Quick story, I was in a Chrysler dealer one day in 1972, forgot why, but I asked the salesman a question, and somehow, he thought I asked the price of a new Charger. All of a sudden, he said to me the best price he could give me on the Charger was $4200. Can you imagine buying a new car for that price nowadays. It sure was a nice car.
