Description
"Holding just at the edge of our sensor range, Captain." Mr.Aurelius reported as Navarre stepped up next to the console. "Getting the same power signature."
"Not surprised." Navarre scowled. "Puzzling." He moved to the main data console to the left side of the bridge. He checked the data feed return on his previous inquiry. "Listed under the trade consortium. They could be working with or for anyone." He moved back to the console and stared at the sensor readings. "Your thoughts?"
"At first I thought a pirate scout; but they would of have made a jump on us by now." Mr.Aurelius shook his head. "I'm at a loss on this one."
"Same here." Navarre stood in silence, trying to think of any alternative that might indicate what they were up to. "Okay." He finally drew a deep breath. "Enough of this game. WE have passengers and cargo to tend to."
"Got something in mind?"
"A nice little trick I think you will like." Navarre moved to the left front alcove and activated the darkened console. "On my command, go to warp two but be ready to drop to half impulse and change course."
"I'm not following this plan, but ready."
Navarre brought his hidden instrument to life within engineering. He placed his fingers over the activation button. "Warp two."
"Aye, warp two." Mr.Aurelius punched the buttons in. Space surged about them. "They're out of range, but it won't take them but a minutes to catch back up."
"More than enough time. Navarre grinned as he pressed the sequence activation button.
